Frosted film for glass
Frosted glass film gives glass an etched look without treating the glass itself. It lets light through, blocks views and can carry a logo, lettering or a printed motif.

Frosting glass with window film
Frosted glass film, also called sandblast or etched-effect film, is a self-adhesive polymeric film with a satin matt surface. On glass it looks like sandblasted glass, but it goes on quickly and can be removed when needed.
The film transmits around 80% of light and blocks around 95% of UV rays. The room stays bright while views from outside or from the next room are blocked.
It can be used in three ways: fully frosted, with cut-out motifs, lettering and logos, or with a printed image. Cutting is done on a cutting plotter, see vinyl cutting.
Where frosted film is used
Offices and meeting rooms
Frosting for glass partitions and doors, logos and company messages on the glass.
Hotels, spas and gyms
Decoration for windows, glass doors and screens where privacy matters.
Homes and shop windows
Bathrooms, shower screens, front doors, cabinet glass and shop windows with cut lettering.
How your frosted glass can look
- Fully frosted. The whole pane, or a band at eye level, is covered with film.
- With cut-out motifs. Letters, logos, bands and shapes are cut on a plotter. It also works the other way round: a frosted background with the logo left clear.
- Printed. Colour motifs are printed on the film and stay translucent against the light.
- Combined. Printing and contour cutting in one graphic.

Frosted film FAQ
Can the film be removed later?
Yes. The film peels off the glass and any adhesive residue can be cleaned off. That makes it a practical choice for rented offices and premises.
Which side of the glass does it go on?
Usually the inside, where it is protected from the weather. The film is also suitable for outdoor use if the glass can only be reached from outside.
What file do you need for cut-out designs?
A vector file (CDR, EPS or PDF) with text converted to curves. If you only have a raster logo, we can vectorise it, see services.
Do you install the film?
Yes, we apply film to glass on site. The standard lead time is up to 3 working days and the minimum order is 1 m².
